Course description
The Diploma in Insurance (Vakuutustutkinto, VTS) is a basic certificate for the industry which provides you with a good understanding of the different forms of insurance, key principles for the industry, and the regulations. You may want to deepen your knowledge as an expert or be thinking of moving towards a role in the industry. In either case, the diploma is a way to demonstrate your skills and understanding.
The diploma consists of exams across different topics relevant for insurance experts. These include both more general topics like insurance economics and risk management, and specific topics like social security and pension insurance. To complete the diploma, you must pass eight exams. Overall, the diploma is equivalent to 17.5–21 ECTS depending on your selection of exams (each study credit is equivalent to approximately 25–30 hours of study).
The exams are carried out through an electronic exam management system. The diploma is in Finnish and can be completed over two years.
