Course description
The role of communication has strengthened in recent years as an enabler of a successful business. At the same time, more and more tasks are project-based. Thus influencing stakeholders, communicating about projects, and leading teamwork are increasingly required, even in expert positions. However, the challenge is how to communicate strategically and create an effective message that takes into account and convinces the target group.
The Effective Communication (Vaikuttava viestintä) program helps you develop effective communication for business cases and projects and build a communication plan that considers the target group's needs. The program also helps to improve communication in challenging situations and multicultural and hybrid business situations.
After the program, you will understand the strategic role of communication in the success of projects and the importance of understanding the target group, formulating the message, and presenting skills for successful communication.
The program's key themes are communication style, context, and goals, understanding the target group and making channel choices, and communication planning and presentation.
The program consists of an independently completed online course of your choice, 17 micromodules and related tasks, two group online teaching days, and a live teaching day in Helsinki. The total workload is approximately 50–60 hours, including around 15 hours of teaching and 40 hours of self-paced learning while completing the online course, micro-modules, and preliminary assignments. The total workload depends on the online course you choose and your study style.
Online teaching takes place in an online environment; face-to-face teaching takes place at Aalto EE's premises in Helsinki.
The program is held in Finnish.
