Form of learning:
The application period for the summer course Sustainable Design starts in February. Please note that course information is subject to change.
As the world changes around us, cross-disciplinary understanding and capacity-building become increasingly relevant to future professionals. The graduate-level multidisciplinary course aims to promote a better understanding of the bigger picture around global issues related to sustainability.
During the two weeks, students will engage in civil learning, diving deep into three fundamental areas of sustainability: social, political and environmental issues. By deepening their knowledge on topics such as governance, sustainable development and civic engagement, students develop a higher awareness of the competencies and action needed to push for big-scale impact.
Adopting a mixed methodology that combines theoretical learning and practical group work, students will be able to draw connections between disciplines and competencies regarding global issues. By doing so, the course aims to equip them to work in cross-disciplinary teams focusing on systems change. At the same time, the course aims to contribute to a more sustainable society by training responsible future professionals with the necessary awareness to foster more inclusive, engaged and ethical global societies.
The tuition fee for external students is 1600€ (including VAT 24%).
There is no tuition fee for Aalto degree students. Reduced tuition fee (30%) for students from Aalto University partner institutions who are not nominated for exchange.
