The program is designed for professionals and managers working in risk management and compliance in the financial sector. It is also suitable for you if you need an understanding of overall risk management in your work.

Course description

Risk management and compliance play an important role in companies in the financial sector. Comprehensive risk management requires financial sector organizations to know the operating environment; effectively identify, assess, and deal with risks; understand the regulations; and be proactive. Successful risk management is always strongly linked to management and, when successfully implemented, creates added value for the company.

Riskienhallinta ja compliance finanssialalla (The Risk Management and Compliance in the Financial Sector) program will help you develop your company’s risk management culture and readiness to manage risks in a changing environment. The training will help you draw attention to the importance of dialogue between risk management and compliance functions when achieving your goals.

After the program, you will understand the maturity level of risk management in your organization and be able to develop your own work in the field of risk management and/or compliance. You will also have a broader understanding of the development of the financial sector industry and the key challenges in the implementation of risk management and compliance.

The program’s key themes are the role and relationship of compliance and risk management, goal setting, building and implementing compliance processes and programs, understanding the overall picture of regulation in the financial sector, integrating the code of conduct and responsibility, identify emerging risks, and building comprehensive risk management processes.

The program consists of four training days, an ending webinar, and a small group assignment. The total workload is approximately 35 hours, including 30 hours of teaching and five hours of self-paced learning while completing a course assignment.

The program is held in Finnish.

Teaching takes place at Finva’s premises in Helsinki.
