Course description

More and more organizations are focusing on project-oriented activities, but how can we ensure that projects are managed as efficiently as possible? Organizations that find a solution to this challenge will gain a competitive advantage that few can replicate.

Projektisalkun hallinta is an effective two-day program during which participants discuss the essentials of portfolio management with an experienced instructor. The program demonstrates that project portfolio management constitutes an integral part of an organization's management system and that, at its best, it can serve as a very effective method for implementing an organization's overall strategy. In addition, the program includes a recap of key concepts, the best practices of portfolio management, and launching portfolio management in an organization.

A well-organized portfolio management process can systemically determine the necessary decisions and prioritization choices among your projects. Proactive portfolio management guides the balance of your project portfolios in a truly strategy-focused and proactive way. By actively managing its project portfolios, an organization can shorten the duration of its projects, save millions of euros, and improve implementation capacity and predictability.

In the Projektisalkun hallinta training, you will gain an overview of the meanings, goals, and methods available in project portfolio management. You will learn to focus on issues related to project portfolio management and learn how to maintain project portfolio balance and maximize its value.

The training days include lectures, examples, discussions, and exercises. The focus will be on practical management work, developing work processes, identifying your current situation, and implementing any necessary measures.

Teaching takes place at Aalto PRO's premises in Helsinki.
