Diploma in Project Management
Form of learning:
Target group and prerequisites
The Diploma in Project Management program will look into both the management and leadership perspectives of projects. It will support your growth from project manager to project leader. During the program, you will reflect on your leadership skills and how to become even more impactful as a leader. Key themes of the program include core competences for the project manager, starting a project, efficient project management, project management models, and project leadership. Within these themes, we will cover, for example, the project life cycle, project management methods (like scope, time, and cost management), and team and stakeholder management.
The program improves your skills in project management and project leadership as well as developing your perspective of yourself as a project leader. You will also gain the tools and methods required for the work of a project leader and leading projects, and create a network of project management experts across organizations. For your organization, you will bring new insights and methods through sharing of learnings as part of the program. You will also develop yourself to be a leader for upcoming projects.
The program consists of faculty-led in-class and online sessions as well as personal assignments, e.g., the Me as a Project Leader reflection exercise. During the program, participants will also use the Echo Team method to share knowledge in their own organization.
Overall, the program includes ten days of faculty lead sessions onsite and a couple of webinars. To maximize the benefit, you should expect to spend the same amount of time on preparation for the modules, reflection of assignments, and implementation of learning in your own organization.
The program is held in Finnish.
Teaching takes place at Aalto PRO's premises in Helsinki.
