Course description
In the 2020s, the ways we work are undergoing a significant change due to for example digitalization. For the same reason, managing organizations has also become increasingly challenging: how should we lead personnel, foresight future phenomena, and implement necessary changes? At the same time, leaders of organizations face a personal challenge: do I know enough, how do I cope, and how do I succeed myself? These questions are common to both newly entrusted and already experienced managers.
At AaltoJOKO®, you get a comprehensive introduction to, or the possibility to upgrade your existing leadership skills for the 2020s.
You can start your studies in either the fall or spring. In the fall, you will begin by reflecting on your own leadership style and getting concrete tools to reform your own ways of thinking and working. You will also get a comprehensive introduction to the ongoing revolution of work and different organizational cultures, followed by tools to manage and implement change.
If you start in the spring, you will begin your studies with two background modules. The first will give you tools for future foresight and understanding of the root causes of global financial market changes. The second discusses customer orientation and its impact on organizations. After these sessions, you will learn how to build strategies and guide and monitor their implementation.
The program is designed to be completed alongside your demanding work. It consists of eight 2 to 3-day modules, pre- and post-assignments, a personality analysis to be carried out in the autumn, and a Fundamentals of Accounting online course in the spring. There will also be two live case exercises in which you solve challenges from real organizations as a group member. The program also includes a week-long study tour.
The two different starting times with the groups studying together offers you exceptional networking opportunities. Participants are also invited to join Aalto EE's active alumni activities.
With additional assignments, you can transfer 4.5 ECTS credits from the "Tulos ja sitouttaminen" module to the Aalto Executive MBA or MBA programs.
The program is held in Finnish.
Teaching takes place at Aalto EE's premises in Helsinki.
